How your Fundraising helps
In just three years, this unique event has provided an opportunity to fifty four teenagers and young adults, living with disability who challenged themselves to go beyond their best. Many of whom have gone on to set and achieve many more personal goals.
They are however, not the only people to have benefited from this event. Thanks to your participation and support Krazy Kosci Klimb has raised over $420,000 providing essential funding for the Accessible Gym and Sports program at Cerebral Palsy Alliance.
For people with cerebral palsy, regular physical activity can mean the difference between living independently and having to rely on a carer. This program provides supported access to appropriate exercise equipment and programs to maximise their health. The people who participate in this program engage in an inclusive community activity, where they meet new friends, increase their independence and self-esteem and can proudly to share their achievements with families and friends.
Currently over 200 adults and young people with a disability use the Allambie Heights gym on a regular basis. Another 50 utilise the gym through our supported sports programs.
Over the next year the funds raised from the Krazy Kosci Klimb 2016 will be going towards the development of our Ryde centre through the following ways:
- The refurbishment of the gym
- Purchase of customised gym equipment
Cerebral Palsy Alliance at Ryde is the next centre to receive a new gym. Currently under construction the gym will have over $50,000 of new customised equipment installed, ready to take on some eager clients.
